Prasyarat pada umumnya akan dinyatakan didalam ikhlan. Tetapi ada juga prasyarat yang tidak dinyatakan tetapi diketahui umum.

Physical
Kebanyakan airlines memberi prasyarat yang agak sama tentang syarat physical. Mereka menumpukan kepada keperluan tentang ketinggian, berat, penglihatan dan pendengaran. There is great similarity on the physical requirements. The main stress are on the height, weight, sight hearing and other physical imperfection. Ada juga yang menyebut tentang tidak ada kecacatan yang nyata.
Contoh prasyarat untuk menjadi pramugari ialah:
a) Umur: 18-30 tahun
b) Ketinggian : Lelaki : 165cm Perempuan : 157cm
c) Kesihatan yang baik / pengelihatan yang baik dan tidak rabun warna.

The main roles and responsibility of pramugari
Why airlines needs cabin crew or pramugari.
Cabin crew or also known as Flight Attendants, Air Hostess or pramugari are on board of the aircraft primarily for the safety and welfare of the passengers and only secondly for their comfort and cabin services. If there were no services of food or drink during a flight, there would still have to be a minimum presence of cabin crew for safety which is a legal requirement stated in the ICAO requirement.
Just because cabin crew members or pramugari are the face of the airlines , they are expected to excel in customer service and always remain friendly, approachable and enthusiastic with a good sense of self presentation. The role of cabin crew can be both physically and psychologically demanding and you must be prepared to be flexible to work any day of the year. The timing is odd, you are expected to work and put up the genuine smiles for 10 hours at the wee hour of the nights. However, your are given a perfect opportunity to visit other countries and are being paid for it. You are away from the repetitiveness of a normal 9 to 5 job! Cabin Crew can encounter many different situations whilst working on board an aircraft and must be an excellent team player with the ability to work on their own initiative using quick thinking and organisational skills.
